Sympathy and remembrance

Words of comfort
from everyone who cares

Friends, family and colleagues each record a few words or a memory. We gather them into one recording that the family can listen to when they are ready.

Everyone records from their own phone or computer. Nothing to install.

How it works

  1. For someone who is grieving. Condolences from friends, family or colleagues, in their own voices.

  2. In memory of someone. Stories and memories from the people who knew them, kept together for the family.

  3. One link, shared quietly. Send it to the people you choose. They record in the browser with no account.

  4. No rush. The family can listen once, or keep the recording and return to it later.

Ideas for what to say

  • A memory of them that you want the family to have
  • Something they did for you that you never forgot
  • What they meant to you, in a sentence or two
  • That you are thinking of the family, and how you can help

Questions

What should people say in a sympathy message?
A short memory or a few honest words is enough. People often share a story about the person who died, or simply say that they are thinking of the family. There is no need to be polished.
Can this be played at a funeral or memorial service?
Yes. You can download the recording as an MP3 and play it at a service, or share the link with the family privately.
Who can hear the recording?
Only people you send the link to. Contributors record through a private link, and you decide who receives the finished recording.
Do people need an app or an account to record?
No. They open the link and record in their browser on a phone or computer.
Does it cost anything?
It is free for up to 6 people, including you. For a larger group there is a single payment of $9.99.

When you are ready

You can record your own message first and share the link later. Contributors can record whenever they feel able to.
