Voice birthday cards
A voice birthday card
from the whole group
Instead of signing a card, everyone records a short birthday message from their phone. We blend the voices into one recording they can play on the day and keep.

Recordable card or VoiceHug?
A recordable greeting card is lovely from one person. When the message is from a group, VoiceHug fits better.

How to make one
Record your own message. A minute is plenty.
Share one link in the group chat, by email or on WhatsApp. People record in the browser: no app, no account.
See who has recorded. Send a reminder to anyone who hasn’t, from your VoiceHug page.
Give it on their birthday. Play it at the party, or send them the link to listen and download.
What to say in a voice card
The same things you would write, said out loud. Start with your name so they know who is talking.
- Happy birthday, and the one thing you would write in their card
- A birthday of theirs you remember
- What you first thought when you met them
- Something they do that makes your life better
- Sing it, if you dare
Voice birthday card questions
- Is it a paper card?
- No. A VoiceHug is a recording they play on a phone, laptop or speaker. If you want to hand them something, write the link in an ordinary card or print it as a QR code.
- How many people can be in one card?
- As many as you invite. Up to 6 people, including you, it is free. For a bigger group it is $9.99, paid once.
- Do people need an app or an account to record?
- No. They open the link and record in their browser, on a phone or a laptop.
- Can people record at different times?
- Yes. Everyone records when it suits them, from wherever they are. You see who has recorded and can send a reminder to the rest.
- How does the birthday person hear it?
- You get a page where they can play the recording, with each person’s message marked so they can skip between voices, and an MP3 to download and keep.
- Can I keep it a surprise?
- Yes. They only hear it when you send them the link or play it to them.
